All those strings linking the world

17 February, 2009 13:25  EasyExpat EasyExpat

You might have noticed the map on the home page of our directory of expat blogs. Each string represents the path of an expat, from his/her starting point to the destination, the country where the blog is now located.

This map represents the move of all expatriates on Blog Expat: from the original country to the destination.

As the directory is growing, you will see more links and more links.

It reminds us that the world is now more linked than ever. Albeit often at war with their close neighbours, the nations have tried to ease the communications with each others. As we've drawn strings between countries, they have put physical links: that's what you can visualise with the article called:

History of the Atlantic Cable & Undersea Communications from the first submarine cable of 1850 to the worldwide fiber optic network.
